If you scrape off your nipple, will it grow back?
Years ago, my uncle suffered severe burns over 72% of his body, and his nipples were burned off. Not the same as scraping them off, but they never came back.

in the event that your nipple gets scraped off accidentally, would it grow back?
if your arm got cut off, would it grow back? sounds like someone is using some homer simpson logic here.

(Actually, if there’s too much damage to the nail bed, your fingernails won’t grow back if ripped out.)
To clarify, the fingernail itself is already dead tissue, the bed is the only part still alive.

…but the nipple is not truly an appendage. Isn’t it a specialize piece skin? and the skin can in some cases repair itself.
That being said, I remember a friend from the service who was in the wrong place at the wrong time and ended up with shrapnel in his chest. I seem to remember he lost a nipple and it didn’t grow back. He lost a portion of his face too so I never really thought of his nipple much. Then again I don’t think of most men’s nipples much.
Since women’s nipples actually have a purpose, how do they fit into the equation?

One of my uncles was one nipple short. He claimed to have lost it in a fight, but he was a congenital liar so I doubt that. In any case it never grew back.

At, a guess, though, I can’t imagine a nipple growing back if it were ‘scraped’ off, if for no other reason than the skin would be too damaged do it. But I would be icredibly surprised if they grew back either way…
