Niven/Pournelle "The Gripping Hand"

I really liked “The Mote in God’s Eye,” but the sequel a little less so. Will a third book ever come out? What do you hear among the SF scuttlebutt?

Also, in what chapter of “The Gripping Hand” does Renner use his sealed orders to take command of the Imperial squadron on blockade duty near Motie space? I don’t want to re-read the whole book right now, but do want to take another look at that part.

I go to SF cons whenever I can and I’ve never heard anything about a sequel. Pournelle has a website but it makes no mention of upcoming books. No possible future books are mentioned in the Wikipedia article on the CoDominium universe.
