NJ State Budget

Having seen/heard/read the news everywhere about NJ state government having been shut down for a week because the legislature had not passed a budget, and now that they have, just how big is it?

And what kind of a raise did state employees get?

(My state ee’s got 5.5%, the biggest in a decade, after several years of 0 to 2%-ers.)

The total budget is $30.9 billion.

As far as raises, most of those will be dictated by the union contracts in place. There were initially calls by some of the house leadership for unionized state workers to give back some pay raises and benefits. But that’s not going to happen.
