This article got me thinking, and since its not a factual, but opinion based answer I suppose this would be the right forum for it.
Do you think this is a sign that NK is preparing for conflict trying to make every male cut his hair like they are in the military? Kind of make it more difficult for the invaders to separate civilians and military.
I just read somewhere the other day that many analysts see a war involving NK as inevitable only because the country is starving, no money, no backing and eventually it will have to fold or go on the offensive.
And after reading this it just seemed like it clicked.
That’s been the entire point of the North Korean government since it’s inception–the whole damn country is a Military Base/Slave Labor Camp/Execution Grounds.
Yes it has been since its inception, but is this a “sign”?
Much like prior to 9/11 the killing of the leader of the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan looked like just another news blurp but had it been seen as a sign of the Taliban knowing they faced an impending war… well you get my drift.
No the rebel leader was kill after 9/11 once the Northern Alliance appeared ready to work with the Americans.
As to North Korea, the place is a military dictatorship based on some weird cult of personality. Why would anyone be shocked that the populace is being made to do something en masse? Everyone has hair that can be cut.
I can think of very few folding countries that just went around attacking anyone for no good reason. By that point the leaders don’t have enough power to command the military. A coup is a far more likely scenerio.
It’s just more brainwashing. NK is a country of wholesale brainwashing, and sometimes the people need a little refresher on authoritarian control.
