"No 1965 Chain Immigrants", you are one SCARY FRUITCAKE!

It would still hurt, even if misspelled.

All hail the SDMB Mods, at least one of whom was evidently up bright and early on a Sunday morning instead of sleeping in like a sinful slugabed…

Again and again, many people agree with you on this.

However, I am not one. The reason is that for the most part, these people are returning and recurring trolls, who are:

  1. Only posting these things because they know it will cause outrage,

  2. Don’t even care about the issue, or may in fact be posting something diametrically opposite to what they actually feel,

  3. Laugh themselves silly over the effort and trouble that most people put into debunking their deliverately trollish posts.

That is, your premise is sound, if the persons in question are truly just thundering ignoramuses (ignoramii?). But unfortunately, for the most part people like this are one incarnation or another of the same “Gang of 5” trolls who are well-known to the staff. And thus, giving them any sort of recognition is only making them spew harder, and without mercy, on their monitors.

In a way, there is. There’s a one post per minute limit, so in that sense this character couldn’t have posted more than one thread per minute.

I’ve heard it over and over: “Don’t feed the trolls.” However, the trolls know how hard that is to do.

Certainly this guy was either a troll or beyond hope, and definitely deserved his banning. I was thinking more of those who might read and concievably be swayed by those views- I doubt there is really any intelligent debate on the stormfront website (I’ll admit that I’ve never really read it). For people who may have racist leanings, seeing how poorly those ideas stand up to real debate could prevent them from going to the dark side of the force as it were.

Assuming this guy was a legitimate Nazi, if he is banned rather than debated into the ground he can pretend it is because his ideas actually have some merit (which they don’t).

A “legitimate” Nazi? Hmmm, I’m gonna have to think about that one…

Well, “legitimate”, as in “someone who really agrees with all that stuff”, as opposed to “someone who was merely attempting to jerk the SDMB’s collective chain”.

Not quite, Johnny. The Young Ones series aired in 1982 and 1984; the Bobby-in-the-shower episode of Dallas was in 1987.

I may be wrong, but unless there are British TV references that I never got, the Young Ones did not crib from other shows. They would mock them, as with Vyvyan’s rant against The Good Life, but I don’t believe they ever re-used someone else’s gag.

[nitpick]I never watched Dallas either, but I read about that episode, and it wasn’t Bobby who expressed relief. Pam, his wife(?), was the one who had to be reassured, because it had been her dream.[/nitpick]

Chain 1965: Bringing you the news that everyone else is too chickenshit to even mention

From the “Headlines you’d like to read” department :

'White supremacist nails self to fiery cross"

The folks that you are cheering on in this and other threads are spamming this message board, which is not allowed. We get and allow all types here, we just don’t allow them to abuse our already overworked board.

I see you and Kuk have been here a while; I guess I would have thought you’d learn more here than that our board is overworked.

Denise, Kyle registered 10-14-2002; thus proving the hydra is not a purely mythological beast.

He claimed to have been lurking for a while in another thread, and I misread his registration date after reading that. I blame lack of caffeine!

It’s not unheard of - though I doubt the veracity here I guess - as I lurked for about a year before registering here.

Well, I’m against chain immigrants too. I just can’t stand it when some immigrant shows up at my door and insists that I send off seven more immigrants to seven different countries or I’ll have bad luck. I’m not really convinced by the “a woman from Boston refused to send her seven children abroad and her cat died a week later” stories, but damnit if that little superstitious part of my brain doesn’t give it some creedance. Ever try to convince your cousin to move to Botswana so your trip to Vegas isn’t a bust? It ain’t easy. So please everyone, I’m begging you. Stop chain immigrants. I’m running out of cousins.

This is my nomination for the most humorous post of the week award. LOL!

Just go along with it Beeblebrox, I broke the chain, and I haven’t gotten laid in 19 years.

Of course, I am only 19 years old, but…

I was wondering when a member of stormfront would get here.
I read their web site perodically on the premise of “keep your friends close and your enemies closer.”
The babbling idjits like No 1965 Chain Immigrants don’t really worry me-too dumbass. However, there are one or two coherent posters over there that scare the piddle out of me because they are *intelligently hateful.

TubaDiva sez don’t feed the storm front members–don’t post to their threads–just click on the nifty little “Report this post to moderator” button when you see them.

This Chain Immigrants person is someone who has been on at least two message boards that I know of with the exact same nickname doing the exact same thing.

Seems it only exists to spam boards with its tripe.
