So, I am leaving youtube on for background noise, and it seems to have hit upon Absolute History …

“How Paganism Dominated the Ancient World”

Haven’t started watching it yet, but correct me if I am wrong - if something occurs BC - Before Christ, is it not unusual for everything to be paganism because there IS no Christianity yet? Doesn’t there have to be Christianity for stuff to be considered Pagan [term deriven from the word for country bumpkin, more or less]

The Jews might have something to say about that. And maybe Akhenaten.

In other words, I think “pagan” is usually taken to mean believing in many gods rather than one. Alternatively, it can mean outsiders who don’t believe in your religion, whatever your religion is.
