Fred Burkle’s death, on Angel. Well, the whole “A Hole in the World” episode, really.
And okay, I’ll admit it, I sniffle at Jurassic Bark too. I’m a sap.

Well, yeah. Add Wesley and his father issues. And who on earth can sit through “The Body” without losing it? But those are wonderfully written and consistently good episodes, so I’m not at all ashamed of crying over them. That’s like being ashamed of feeling awe when watching professional fireworks.
I always thought the most touching scene in the movie is when he is lying awake in bed and realizes that he can’t win. He just wants to make it through the fight and he will have proved that he is at least worth something.
I don’t even like The Simpsons (I know, I know, the stoning will commence at dawn), but still:
“Do it for her.”
<cue unmanly tears>
So you know that new Charlotte’s Web starring Miss Dakota Fanning? I cried during the trailers before it and all throughout because I knew the sad thing that was going to happen at the end. My husband and son, on the other hand, did not cry. Oh, no, not at all! They were far too busy laughing at me.
There are porn sites for that sort of kick.
I’m just guessing. yeah, I wouldn’t know any actual sites for that.
As for me, I only cry when it is appropriate.
When it came out on DVD, it was playing on the big TV up front where I work to encourage people to buy it- everytime the big “Goodbye” scene happens, I choke up.
Lately, it’s been playing Bridge to Terabithia sigh
No. And I must ask you to turn in your Evil Overlord card.
Btw, doesn’t the episode end with ALL of them huddled together outside & the storm either fizzles out or blows around them?
For me, it’s the Sick Kids Hospital commercial, with “Lean On Me” as the theme song, here, and it gets me every single freaking time.
If you’ll excuse me, I need to go find a handful of Kleenex now.
All the castaways go outside, and then lightning strickes the cave in which they were hiding, causing a cave-in which would have killed them. How they survive the storm without any shelter is not explained.
Plastics.
It’s a commercial for plastics, and how many wonderful things they can do for us. They trot it out every couple of years. The part that gets me is the shot of the old lady sitting in a hospital waiting room, clearly anxious. The doctor comes up and tells her that her husband is going to be all right (presumably through the miracle of plastics). She looks up at him with damp eyes and a wistful little smile and says in a soft voice, “Oh, I’m so glad…”
That commercial nails me every single time I see it. I’m not sure why. Probably the same reason why I dissolve into a puddle during the scene in “Titanic” where the old couple die together while “Nearer My God To Thee” plays in the background. Apparently I have a thing for old people in love.
If I remember right something happens like a lightning bolt or falling rocks that collapses the cave and would have killed anyone still in there.
There’s a Bell phone commercial where a kid calls his grandfather from France, and his grandfather assumes he’s in Paris, to which the kid replies “No, I’m at Dieppe. I just wanted to call and say thanks.” That one really got me, especially the grandfather’s look after the kid says he’s in Dieppe. I swear they hired an actor who was really there.
I also remember tearing up when Paula Newby-Fraser bonked hard competing at the Ironman at Kona on the final run up Alii Drive. She crawled across that damn finish line.
For me it’s Cartoons…
Flinstones… Fred leaving Dino (who is about to be a star on Sassy) When that big old caveman tear puts out the Candle I lose it
Simpsons: “Do it for Her” and Maggie’s “Daddy”
Futurama: Fry realizing his Brother really loved him “Luck of the Fryish”
The montage to “I will wait for you” “Juassic Bark”
The Extra Cartooney Fry and Leela walking into the sunset in Fry’s private consert ending " The Devil’s Hands are Idle Playthings"
Aw heck just to throw it in… Fry picking up the holophoner at the end of “Parasites Lost”
Charlottes demise in the animated “Charlottes web”
Dang I’m pathetic
Oh. Oh. Oh my.
I didn’t know Dieppe by name, so I googled it. Now I’m teary, and I’ve never seen the ad.
Mine is the final episode of “Babylon 5.” It was shown the same night my dad died and I still can’t watch it.
EDIT TO ADD: The last episode of Season 2 of Dr Who, when Rose gets trapped in the alternate universe. I bawled like a baby even though I never liked Rose that much.
…I think I can top it all…
I cry at the end of Son of Godzilla.
Big G and little Minya are on an island where a weather device (some plot by the Red Chinese) has been activated to freeze the island. Snow is already starting to fall on the two monsters as they try to make it to the ocean. Little Minya can’t keep up with poppa and keeps falling down in the snow. Finally he is exhausted and can go no further as the snow piles up. Godzilla disappears into the snowstorm seemingly oblivious to his child’s calls. Minya becomes more and more covered in snow when suddenly Godzilla returns and cradles his child as the two become buried in the snow, frozen for…well… until the next movie.
I cry.
To defend Friar Tuck, perhaps he didn’t have any fully functioning ones when this movie came out!
