Not only is Starving doing the right thing by reporting it, but I, for one, am glad she was so upfront about it. Give the little slime a chance to stew for a while; losing a little sleep might do her some good.

Eh, from people I’ve know, she did it. She just didn’t do it quite as awesomely successfully as she claims she did.
I knew someone who would walk into a book store, grab a book off of a front display, put her driver’s license in it like a bookmark, and then proceed to the counter to exchange it for another book. She figured that if she ever got busted she could play the Crazy Card (on disability for various mental problems) to get out of it.

With any luck, that worthless bitch WILL go to jail; some people can’t possibly develop the decency (or even enlightened self-interest) to act in an acceptable manner, but at very least we can make it much harder for them to scam the system. People like her are making it harder and harder for those who really need help from the government.

I’ve met people like her. The whole “telling complete strangers” part is just a mechanism to allow her to pretend what she was doing was ok…
If I say smart people do it, then it’s ok. Society likes and rewards smart people.
If I talk about it like it was nothing to keep quiet about, then it’s ok. And if people don’t say anything then I can pretend everyone does it, so it’s ok.
Once that delusion express starts rolling it can get carried away. It takes someone like StarvingButStrong before it hits the buffers and encounters reality.

And you probably won’t need to even know her mother’s name. Having Ms Fagin’s name should be good enough for any gov’t agency to figure this one out. I know that I’m on some SSA forms for both my parents.
