No Job/No Experience Catch-22

Can I suggest something? Before I got my job with the federal government, I would register at several temporary help agencies. They will test you to see where your abilities lie, they will train you to learn new technologies (word processing, software, etc, was what I specialized in). You might think that all temporary help agencies do is supply people to type and file. True, that’s a large part. But nowadays, with corporations looking to cut labor costs, temporary help agencies supply workers for all sorts of professions. The agencies take care of payroll, supplying workers, etc. You can work as much or as little as you care to. If you can’t stand an assignment, call your agency and get re-assigned. Many companies also like to use these agencies to pre-screen job candidates for 1-2 months to see if they’re suited to their business. This could be a good avenue for you to consider.
