No Marvel One-Shot short film for Blu-ray release of The Winter Soldier!?!?

I just picked up the Blu-ray of Captain America: The Winter Soldier …then I put it right back on the shelf.

The extras don’t include a Marvel One-Shot short film! I have been loving the Marvel One-Shots! They’re the reason I’ve been getting so excited for each home media release! And they’ve been consistently getting better and better (well, All Hail the King wasn’t as good as Agent Carter but it was still really good- it’s just that Agent Carter was awesome!).

So, I didn’t buy the Blu-ray out of worry that there’s another release coming out but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

You still buy discs?

I have Winter Soldier on its way from Amazon. Yes, I also still buy discs. I do plenty of streaming viewing, but for movies that I know I’ll want to watch several times, I get Blurays because I still enjoy the physical process of popping a disc into the try and firing it up. There’s just something enjoyable about that for me. Plus the extras.

Are there deleted scenes with the Blu-Ray? I bought the movie from On-Demand on Verizon FIOS but it doesn’t include extras.

Yeah, that’s what I’ve always wondered about streaming and digital purchases. Do you get all the extras?

I buy discs because a download for me still means sitting in front of my computer in my less comfortable desk chair watching on my small computer screen. I don’t have my T.V. or Blur-ray player set up with the internet. I think I can plug a flash drive into my Blu-ray player- I’ve never tried it but transferring the movie I’ve decided to watch to a flash drive then plugging the flash drive into the player seems like much more of a hassle then just putting a disc in the tray.

I might get it all figured out one day but I’m really in no rush to join the cool kids who get to shout “Phyzical media iz teh suxxor!!11!” to the rest of the world.

Here’s a review that details the extra features- looks like it’s a “yes” for deleted scenes.

This is threadshitting. Don’t do it.

Purchasing the streaming version on Amazon gets the same extras. No one shot, though. I agree that was disappointing and wish they’d end up on streaming somehow.

Thanks, Jonathan Chance, I’d wondered about that- and is that typical that the streaming will have the same extras? For my current set-up it would still mean watching in front of my computer in my desk chair, so I’ll still not move on to streaming yet anyway, but I may do so one day if I know I’m not missing out on extras.

I use a Roku and can watch Netflix, Amazon and what-have-you on my big screen. Big reason why I pay for broadband and not television. If I get Doctor Who six months late who cares (other than my 14-year-old)?

I’ve seen in on a few of the marvel releases. There will be both version available for sale: the one with the special features and the one without. I don’t know off the top of my head what the price differential is, but I’m certain it’s something.

I was pretty disappointed about the lack of a One-Shot as well. I wonder if the two MCU TV shows mean they’re giving up on the One-Shots.
