Whoever thought that up in the first place should be beaten. When I heard that this was being implemented while the wreckage of the towers were still smoldering earned a huge eye roll and a hearty fuck you from me.
What a completely meaningless and impotent thing to do, it made the government look like it was being run by a bunch of tools. Oh.

I remember when the alert levels were first introduced, SNL had a skit with one of the cast playing Tom Ridge. He announced that the levels were Red, Orange, Yellow, Brown, Yellow, and Green and said, “Let me assure that public that we are aware that Yellow appears on the list twice, and… we’re working on that.”
But then, how will the terrorists know when’s a good time to strike?

I’ve only flown once a year or so recently, but I don’t recall ever hearing today’s color-coded threat level . Or was it so frequent that I just instinctively tuned it out?
the latter - they are almost constant at the airports I’ve been thru - on the order of every 10-15 minutes.
