No more complaining about MODERN trailers (Some Spoilers of Old Movies)

Dude. I’d totally watch that movie.
Why the hell is the Justice League, at least Superman and Wonder Woman, pissed off that Dick? Isn’t Dick Nightwing anyway?

Green Lantern cameo. Awesome.
The Criterion DVD of Seven Samurai includes an original theatrical trailer. It starts out with a scene from the end of the movie (four samurai graves) and then proceeds to recap with narration the entire film. At the end of the trailer, titles come up that say “Death? or Victory?”… even though they just gave away the answer.

So if anyone out there hasn’t seen it yet… don’t watch the trailer first.

Thank you mods for making an appropriate thread title change. I would have asked for the change yesterday if Otto hadn’t taxed my mind with irony. I stopped reading his post the first run through after the words “Can’t think of any trailers…”.

OK, got my quicktime to work Bryan. I had friggin’ goosebumps, thanks a lot for that link. You’d think that would earn him a movie offer…

New sexiest Cat Woman ever. Maybe less really is more.

We discussed Grayson a while back in this thread and going there might be better than hijacking this one.

Does somebody mine spoiling the Castaway trailer for me. I don’t remember it.

:sigh:

“mind”

:o

This is getting better and better.

I forgot I did a search, left the window open while looking at other stuff, and came back to it later and forgot that I was looking at a list of year-plus old threads.

Semi-hijack, since this is more about Ebert, but for some reason, my post in this old thread (again responding to CKDH) defied resurrection, so I’m putting it here:

Apparently, Roger Ebert saw his first Harold Lloyd movie a week ago! He’s 63, probably the most-read critic in the US, a frequent visitor to multiple film festivals, and a genuine champion of older movies. How in the world does someone make it that long in his career without ever seeing a single film by Lloyd (who’s generally understood as one of the 3 Great Silent Comedians, along with Chaplin & Keaton). Mikio Naruse, I’d understand. Ditto Ousmane Sembene. Heck, I might even have a moment of leniency and understand Victor Sjostrom, Jean Grémillon, Dusan Makavejev, Dorothy Arzner, Theo Angelopoulos, or Hou Hsiao-hsien.

But Harold Lloyd?!?!?

That’d be like saying that I’ve been a reporter for ESPN for 3 decades but never actually watched a single Philadelphia Phillies game. Ever. Not once. Not even when they were in the World Series.

Unbelievable.

Oh, and yeah, most old trailers are pretty bad.

It reveals that……he makes it off the island.
