'No one ever loved me like that'

A nice person tells me sweet things.
I was remarking to a person
(I often can talk to semi-strangers more openly than I can family and aquaintances)

Her reply was, “no one ever loved me like that!”

I was dumbstruck.

I was thinking like Romeo loved Juliet. Or John loved Yoko.

Amazing.

Awwww, that is really sweet.

…or sad, for the person who was never loved like that.

Aye; this is one of the saddest quotes I’ve ever read in my whole life:

From this AP story:

I’m astonished. If you’d told me a year ago that a Civil War widow was still alive, I’d have scoffed. The fact she never collected his pension brought tears to my eyes.

Thank you so much for posting this!

Sweet things?

Blueberry pie? Marshmellows? A fine tuned RZ350? A chainsaw that starts on the second pull?

Oh, that’s great.
I’ve watched Casablanca many times and never noticed that quote.

Thanks for posting that!

That may be my favorite line in the entire movie. It tells you everything about Rick.

Nevermind

I thought this was another thread

I’ll take the pie, for a sweet thang.
