No pantyhose or stockings....white legs...

I’ve thought about trying the fake tan lotion on my feet to even them up. Maybe I’ll give it a try this summer.

Here’s a sentence I never thought I’d utter: Thank you, Kate Middleton! I think the “pantyhose are passé” thing is total bullshit, and I’ll wear them as much as I like, thankyewverymuch.

I have never, never understood the issue with white legs. White arms are okay, white facial skin is okay, but white legs are somehow too hideous to burden the rest of society with. I don’t mean to criticize TroubleAgain, if you’re still around 5 years after starting this thread - it just annoys me that this idea is so pervasive in American society for some reason. Today everyone seems to be so accepting of differences - you hear many people saying that all body sizes and shapes are beautiful, but then we turn around and say, “All skin colors are beautiful, except for the really, really pale ones.”

I hate wearing pantyhose. In the winter I wear tights because it’s too cold to go without, but for the rest of the year I go bare-legged. And I wear skirts and dresses all the time. If people are repulsed by my pale legs, then I don’t give a shit.

I like being pale. It suits me, going well with my hair and eye colors. I have never been to a tanning booth or used self-tanner. And if someone were to ever comment negatively about my skin color, then they are the ones being the asshole, not me.

Life is too short to worry about crap like this, in my opinion. Do what you feel like doing. Personally, sometimes I wear them, most times, I don’t. Just depends how I’m feeling.

Yes, I sometimes have bruises, either I wear hose or sometimes, I just use a little makeup to cover them up. Bottle bronzer? No thanks, not for me, but to each their own.

(Also, I would like to point out, that your pale skin is, in fact the ‘alabaster complexion’ that inspired so many 17th century sonnets. Be proud!)

Here is the pic of me and my white legs and they even whiter in the sun light http://www.flawlesstiling.net.au/my_white_legs.html

What do you think?

I can’t tell where your legs end and the door begins!

Those are pretty white. Nothing wrong with that.

Yes Im pretty white lol. As with the rest of my body is as white as my legs apart from my arms and face as I wear t-shirts almost all year round.

I get burnt very easy so I always use sunscreen and avoid long periods in the sun.
But i have no problem wearing shorts and showing off my white legs.

My wife is asian so naturally she has a dark skin tone so we contrast each other quite a bit.

Just because someone has white legs its not a reason to be shy and hide them away .

You guys ought to live here in the Seattle area. Along about July 15 when it finally warms up, the ultra white legs showing under the first shorts of the season are almost blinding. Need dark glasses, we do.

I’m one of those folks who wears hose (depending on the skirt) because I think it’s classy. But I could just be a young fuddy duddy.

Or maybe not. I noticed some other girls at work gave it a whirl a few times.

I decided to put up some more picture of me in the day light.

Its funny when I hear alot of people go on about how pale their skin is and if they should show it or not, but most are not that white at all . Their legs may be just lighter than their other parts .

There are alot of other people around that have really white skin like mine and most of them are very shy to expose their white skin. for me I don’t care anymore and show off my white skin all the time. I don’t mean to say that white skin is better than tanned skin because its not . Tanned people look good but I think people with really white skin look good also.

^ This.

I find it offensive that where it’s considered OK for a woman to bare her legs without hose pale skin is considered unacceptable. It’s racist, just as racist as commenting upon/insisting on covering dark skin.

Likewise, telling someone who have very pale skin they should darken it because otherwise they look ill is just as bad as telling someone with dark skin they should bleach it because otherwise they look dirty.

If someone has very pale skin that is what color that person is. Deal with it.

Mostly, I think it’s other women. You know how men can get competitive and turn everything into a contest? Women snark at each other as a form of competition. It’s been my experience that women are far more critical of other women than men are.

That was well said broomstick.

I have been told to get a tan or a fake tan on ,or told just dont wear shorts but its my color. as you can see from my pictures my skin is very white I used to hide myself for years but I guess now that Im getting older I dont seem to worry about it anymore

I like being white and even if i could get a tan i would prefer to stay white.

Flawless, I was kind of afraid to scroll down in that series of pictures, as you seemed to be shedding clothes from one picture to the next…

I totally agree - I have pinkish-beige skin, and it’s nothing to hide or be ashamed of.

I practically glow in the dark and wear what I want…don’t let it bother you.

What color shorts do you think would go best with my white legs?
Any opinions?
