There is this group called 10:10, and they had a neat premise, to run a series of campaigns asking for a 10% reduction in carbon emissions by 2010, 10:10, get it? Not bad, seems like a worthy goal.
But then just this month they released a video called “No Pressure”, which features mostly the blowing up of people who don’t want to join the 10:10 campaign. This had the potential to be funny, but they didn’t blow people up in a funny, Monty Python, puff of smoke way, oh no, they blew them up in a “True Blood”, gore and blood explosion kind of way.
Really? That’s how you want to persuade people to come to your side? By scaring them? Grossing them out? It might have been better if they had just burned the money it took to produce this, sure they would have produced some additional carbon, then again they might still have some donors.
