I’m surprised. This made the news yesterday. Aragoncillo has apparently been passing information to the Phillipine government from within the White House:

He operated mostly during the Bush administratiion, but he was hired near the end of Clinton’s, and served in Gore’s offices. There’s potential for both sides to point fingers in this case.
Every nation on Earth is constantly trying to spy on every other nation on Earth, all the time.
The Big Dogs usually do better than the Small Dogs.
This time, the Small Dog got the bones.
That’s all this proves.
Well, we were all waiting for you to start one. Thanks for finally getting around to it.
Anyway, if there are frickin’ Filipino spies in the White House, just think what the French must be doing. (shudder)
Why? The only direction fingers logically should point is toward whoever carried out the investigations that resulted in granting him a security clearance, no?
Honestly, I wouldn’t even blame them. Security investigations can help, but can’t completely predict the future, and determine whether, at some later date, Joe Schmoe will start stealing secrets.
If the feds had indications early on the guy was spying and failed to act, then there is blame. If they acted promptly on suspicions, kudos to them for finding the guy.

It appears to be a routine spy case with potential for finger-pointing on both sides of the aisle. I don’t see why it should be a hot topic for debate.
