It’s a 2017 AWD. I hit a big pothole and got new wheels and tires. OBD 2 shows nothing . I will take it to a shop . The light is on for slip issues.
It sounds like you damaged the wheel speed sensor, the wiring to it, wheel bearing, or perhaps the speed sensor was unplugged during some servicing.
The sensor itself can be gotten for >$30 online and works perfectly fine, but I find that shops want to us sensors at the $120 and up range. The problem is also that though the sensor can be replaced quite quickly if the stars align, there is a fair chance that they do not and the wheel hub assembly needs to be taken apart and that old stuck (and now broken) sensor drilled out.
If it’s the wheel bearing, you have to decide if it’s worth replacing. For a 2017 it sounds like it’s worth it but that’s your call, a small piece of electrical tape works well to hide the light. But some systems may not work properly like vehicle dynamic control, ABS and in some cars cruse control (though Nissan is pretty good with that and CC should work).
Yes, wheel speed sensor. The slip or traction light is on because it thinks that one or more wheels are not spinning at the same speed, usually indicating a loss of traction or slippery/icy conditions. At least that is what the car thinks.
Consumer ODB readers aren’t always as advanced as the pro models. There may be multiple levels of codes to be read. Check the auto parts stores in your area. Many offer a free service to read your codes. They may be able to get at codes which your own ODB reader doesn’t show.
the dash warning light is now off. Maybe the computer decided the data from all 4 wheels is now ok? Going to have it checked out anyway
