No, your good looks didn't get you off...

Reading This Thread reminded me of something my deputy friend told me. Apparently, some cops will pull a car over just to check out the driver. He knew a cop that would pull a car over for a minor infraction if the driver was a hottie and then let her off with a warning. The cop saw it as showing off his power to a lady and then showing what a nice guy he was for letting her off.

So ladies, the next time you think you got out of a ticket with your looks, it might have been your looks that got you noticed to begin with. Sometimes it’s advantageous to be plain.

It’s sort of hard to keep that last sentence from giving off a “She was asking for it” vibe.

Keep talking, I’m picking up what you’re laying down. Could you go ahead and say it’s great to be fat, too, that would really make my day!

Anyhoo, I was just thinking of starting a thread about attractive people and how they don’t have to be as nice as, say, me, because they will be more likely to get repsect and their way anyway. But that sounded pathetic. BUT, the woman I think of in those terms is also someone who dyes her hair blonde and plays the eye-batting female when she gets pulled over. And gets away with it! I’m sure she does stand out in her town and it certainly could be that the cops enjoy the chat.

Cops like to throw their weight around with everyone.
They pull over my parents for “driving erratically” when they are just driving slow to look for house numbers. Then let them go more out of embarrassment than anything else, tho they try to hide it.

At one time in my life, I was a semi “hotty.” I lived in San Diego at the time.

The big local news at the time was about a CHP who had murdered a woman he had stopped because she was cute.
He’d been pulling women over for years. He started out doing just what you describe. However, he escalated to seduction to rape by intimidation, then finally to murder, when the woman resisted.

Because of his high profile, women were a little nervous about being pulled over.

One day, I was looking for an address. I was driving a brand new MR2.

I missed the street I was looking for, and turned around in a driveway on a side street. After I turned into the neighborhood, a SDPD pulled me over.
I was doing maybe 25 MPH, used my turn signals, etc.

There was no reason to stop me.
The officer came to my window asked for my licence. (not my registration) I asked why he stopped me, he ignored the question.

Then I asked for his name and badge number, mentioning the name of a friend on the force. He threw my licence back into my car, without another word, roared off.

I was scared and very angry. When I told my cop friend, he laughed and said it happens all the time.

Happens all the time. I had a cop once pull me over and I’m sitting there, wondering if I have a taillight out or something. He says, “No, I don’t need to see anything, I was just wondering if you were married.” I said yes. He said, “Ah well. Have a nice night.” Hopped back into his car and drove off.

He was kind of cute, too. (However, I wasn’t lying; I was married.)

I got pulled over the other night by a small town officer. His reason was that I had a burned out license plate light. I checked when I got home, it’s working fine. Maybe he just pulled me over because he thought I was cute.
I guess seeing the wife and grandaughter in the truck with me ruined the moment for him.

Well, I guess this, instead of my driving habits, explains why I haven’t been pulled over. :dubious:
