Non-PC songs

The original first verse of Cole Porter’s “Let’s Do It”:

Chinks do it, Japs do it
Upper Lapland little Lapps do it
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love

Later changed to “Birds do it, bees do it, even educated fleas do it…”

In a similar vein, “C. B. Savage,” which came out shortly after “Convoy” topped the charts and featured a gay trucker.

Also Weird Al’s “Truck Drivin’ Song.”

Yep, that’s what I thought of, too. When I was in high school somebody gave me an nth generation cassette of this. (Or at least it was claimed to be the underground album. It may have been this one instead, because the only song I remember from it is the Three Biggest Lies. Could have been both albums on one tape.)

That one caught my eye a few months back via seeing the artwork for it in an unrelated Google Images search. Found this wax cylinder recording on YouTube.

Oh, and triple-posting, but how about the song Little Girls by Oingo Boingo, which celebrates pedophilia?

Yeah, it’s not PC but, as you stated, it’s a joke song performed from the perspective of a bigoted conspiracy-monger so it deserves a pass.

When I was a kid, a friend of mine’s old Norwegian grandfather had a gold mine in Alaska. We used to go up there and goof around. Grandpa had an old Edison Victrola that played cylinders. One of them was a song called “Hey Wop!” Some lyrics:

“Hey Wop! Get up, get up, it’s seven o’clock!
Hey Wop! Get up and go down to the barber shop!”

Hardly homophobic…

“Hey, Fuck Anita Bryant
Who the Hell is she
Telling all them faggots
That they can’t be free
Throw that bitch in prison
then maybe she’ll see
just how much them goddamned homosexuals mean to me”

I got a woman - Ray Charles

Thats inaccurate. Its more about going out with a girl thats way too young for you.

And yes im aware of the video

Penn State definitely still plays it.

(I’ll be here all week.)

On a more pertinent note, back in the bad old days before I had Sirius, I used to hear the Dire Straits’ Money For Nothing on terrestrial radio with the line about “the little faggot with the earring and the makeup” bleeped out. Not literally bleeped, I don’t think that’s actually a thing with songs, only spoken dialog - more like a dead space of silence where the word is supposed to be.
