Non-Star Wars Skywalker Question

[sic] I do not think this word means what you think it means.

Kobal2 appears to be a fan of TVTropes.

You’re probably right; he did nab most of the “made up” words from other cultures and myths, so that makes some sense.

… Dammit.

You guys are nitpicking samurais. Honing your art single-mindedly, with unmatched dedication, for all your life, preparing this one perfect cherry blossom. I bow down… sensei.

(Bosstone’s right, BTW)

I have a female cousin who got divorced a year or so after the original Star Wars came out. She sure didn’t want his last name anymore and didn’t really like her maiden name either.

So she changed it to Starwalker. Had a nice sound, but wasn’t too fanboyish.

When I was in High School there was a boy in either the JHS or 9th grade named Skywalker who was born around 1970 or 72 being 3 or 4 years behind me. I worked with his grand father, father and sister and they all told me this bit of trivia and i cross checked with the school files that it was the kids birth name

Skywalker was named after a native American medicine man that is also translated as Windwalker

The family lived on a hippy worm farm in Marin County California when Sky was born and in about Christmas of 1973 the father Shannon (Shenandoah) was at a wine and cheese party in Marin when he meet George Lucas and they talked about their families and Shannon showed George pictures of his Toddler Son Skywalker and George ask about the name

And it appears in the movie “Young Frahnkensteen”.

“He ist vollowink in his vader’s vootschtapps!”

The concept of a god named or titled “Sky Father” is actually a feature of Proto-Indo-European religion that survived in some of its branches. This god became Dyáus Pitā in Hinduism, Jupiter in Roman mythology, and Zeus (Zeu Pater) in Greek myth.

I used to know somebody who’s last name was Kenobi (or something very similar) I always wanted to ask him if he had any relatives named Juan.

This thread is totally about Star Wars.

Nothing but Star Wars.
