I’m using a computer monitor as a TV in my home office because it seems the only 24-28" TVs that will do 1080P are garbage brands like Vizio or Insignia. The trouble is the “On Demand” menus on my Comcast box are only 480i or 480P, and the Samsung monitor I otherwise love will absolutely refuse to display them, so I can’t select any On-Demand menu items. Anyone know a decent non-TN monitor that will do what I want?
Have you tried changing the output resolution of your Comcast box?
I’ve rejected that option because I want to keep it at “pass-through”; if a channels broadcasting 720p I don’t want the box to convert it to 1080i before sending it to the monitor or vice versa.
Are you sure it does that instead of just affecting the menu resolutions? Seems like transcoding would incur unnecessary processing…
And most monitors won’t display whatever-i resolution, but 480p should work. It didn’t?
