Non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner

I’ve decided on USDA Prime filet mignon wrapped in bacon, baked potatoes, and creamed fresh spinach with feta mixed in. For starters, I’ll make escargots.

Sounds like a lot of things to wrap a filet in.

A friend makes turkey wings for Thanksgiving.

Once you commit to it, it’s easy! Filet on the inside, cheese and spinach mixture cementing the potatoes to the meat and while the first person holds it all together, the bacon is wrapped like twine to hold everything in. It will take 1.5 packages of bacon and a dozen wooden skewers per filet. Soak them overnight in whisky for extra flavor and flambe for flair!
Tell me that wouldn’t make for interesting pictures.

I’m usually better at punctuating.

The Wegmans grocery store here sells $6 meals (usually a meat and two sides) in plastic takeout containers, and I’ve noticed a really nice looking turkey and two sides dinner to takeout for about $10. It seems to be big slices of white breast meat only. I loathe turkey myself, I would get Chinese food or Italian, but for those who must have it, there it is.

So you’ve given up on escargot lasagna? I’m disappointed.

I have a can of escargot that I brought back from my first trip to Paris in 1999. It’d be great in a lasagna, but I guess it’s long past its expiration date.
