What are the most shocking non-US accents that weren’t even that accent? For example, British accent guy isn’t British. Here’s why I began this thread:
Watching David Tennant on Top Gear. He’s there for his interview followed by “celebrity in average car.” (I Love this show, BTW…any…who…(sorry))

So. What are your Non-US actor pretending another non-US accent examples?
Well, I have some examples of non US actors doing accents that are regional to the US.
Examples:
Costas Mandylor is Australian, but on his TV series Picket Fences, which was set in Wisconsin, he had an eastern seaboard accent.
Anthony LaPaglia, who is Australian has a decidedly Noo Yawk accent in everything he is in while playing an American.
And here’s one I think you might be getting at: Cate Blanchett is an Australian without an accent. I thought she was British for a long time, because of her stilted verbiage.
Wow, a lot of Australians here, eh? I guess it just goes to show how versatile they are.
I take it you mean English accent? Scotland is part of Great Britain and therefore Scottish is Brittish. I’m not familiar with David Tennant which is making it a bit hard to follow your post. Do you mean he appears in a show with an English accent but you just found out he’s Scottish?

Christian Bale.
Never does the same accent twice, and never does his own.
Russell Crowe (Australian)
The only one I can think of off the top of my head is English in “Master and Commander”, but I know he’s done it before.
Pierce Brosnan (Irish) James Bond - English accent.
Sam Neill (Irish/New Zealand) - Reilly Ace of Spies - English accent…
Craig Ferguson, who is Scottish, played Englishman Nigel Wick on The Drew Carey Show. He had a very convincing English accent that was completely different from his natural Scottish accent.
In The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain, Irishman Colm Meany played Welshman Morgan The Goat.
The winner must be Sean Connery, playing a Soviet submarine commander with a Scottish accent in Hunt for Red October.
Alan Cumming is another Scot whose burr you could cut with a knife, but he deftly switches his voice to play an Irish schmuck in Circle of Friends and a plummy English prig in Emma (and dozens of other films probably). And then he played the German role of the Emcee in the Broadway revival of Caberet.
Sorry. I always try to make sure I don’t do that but then I do it anyway.
In the Doctor Who episode “Tooth And Claw” he pretends to be an Edinburgh Doctor called James MacCrimmon {an in-joke: one of his companions back in the 60’s when he was played by Patrick Troughton was an 18th Century Highlander called Jamie MacCrimmon}, complete with his natural Scottish accent, which he plays as fake: mid-way through the episode he forgets the subterfuge and reverts to his “real” English accent.
Another Sam Neill vote, Hunt For Red October, where he played the Russian XO, although I can’t attest to the accuracy of his accent.
Ioan Gruffudd in the Hornblower movies speaks with a melodic English accent, and uses much the same accent in the movie King Arthur playing Sir Lancelot. Turns out, he’s Welsh.
I dunno about this, at least not as a whole. Seems I can think of at least three movies where he seemed to use the same American accent (Batman Begins, Equilibrium, and The Machinist). That said, his accent in Newsies was different enough.
Just don’t do it again.

His accent in The Prestige was quite different as well. He uses the American voice in American Psycho as well (great movie).
Actually I’m not, I’ve never been there. I have no vested interest in my nitpick.
