Yes, we’re in the Pit. So what? Are you really going to try to deny that asking a leading question is going to cause response bias?
British. Bush is truly scary. I can’t stand his policies, either domestic or (especially) foreign.
American living in Mexico here. George Dumbya turns my stomach.
I know a little bit about stealing elections; maybe Carlos Salinas outdid Dumbya by a little but not by much. My kids are ten and twelve years old and the little shit (I know he’s 5’10" but he sure comes across as dwarvish) has me terrified for their future.
Also I know plenty of conservative Mexicans and I have never talked to anyone who didn’t despise and fear the swine.
I’m a Canadian. I dislike him for four basic reasons:
-
His handling of the economy is generally poor. Protectionist policies and heavy-duty spending will do the U.S., and world, economy no favors. And he’s doing it for short-term politican gain.
-
He started a war based on lies. Not a good thing.
-
His social conservatism is backwards and ignorant.
-
Like it or not, he’s damaged the cohesion of the Allies and has done nothing for Middle East peace.
Canada.
I despise Bush. He is a small, sad, weak little man. I have similar feelings for most of his administration.
Also Canadian
Wasn’t fond of him at first.
Found his flying around all day on 9/11 not to be the sign of a strong leader. ( For those who’d defend him by saying he was a target or it wasn’t safe I’d remind him of the Royal family and Winston Churchill remaining in London during the Blitz and speaking out defiantly while in the danger zone also that was the time I warmed up to Mayor Guilliani who was the only leadership not hiding in a hole that day)
I gained slight repect on his slow and measured move against Afghanistan but then when he decided that those captured were not Prisoners of War he lost the chance to show the world that The West was morally superior to terrorists because.
He turned his disputes with Canada into a personal grudge with our Prime minister which isn’t exactly the intellegent tact of a diplomat. Hell even Nixon, who hated Mao with everything in him, still went to China.
Iraq turned me completely sour on His government. His my way or else tact is no different than any other tyrant in history. Possibly Faking the reasons for the war is another tact I resent
So no I don’t like Bush, I don’t trust him, and I hope he goes soon enough but unfortunately his policies will remain for decades because you can’t reverse that kind of start without looking weak to the outside.
