Hey Mike, I’m loving your Advent Calendar videos. Your fireplace – does it heat your whole house or is it just ornamental?
In our area of Toronto (North York) we haven’t had any problems personally, and my wife orders Amazon stuff practically every day. I don’t doubt it’s a problem elsewhere, though.
Was it because of Joe Lycett? He took Hermes down pretty good here:
I’m sure that was fuel on the fire, but Hermes is just almost universally hated by recipients of parcels; speaking for myself, my heart sinks when I buy something on eBay and I get a tracking notification from Hermes.
It’s generally OK if they deliver successfully on the first attempt, but if for any reason that doesn’t happen (whether it’s that you weren’t in to sign, or the parcel gets delayed in transit), the chances of it ending well take a dramatic nosedive.

It’s functional (it emits a lot of heat), but it has no back boiler or anything, so it heats the living room (and to some extent, adjoining rooms if we keep the door open once it’s hot).
