All of which are unavoidably very, very, bloody.
Rocket League
On the down side, it’s horribly optimized and makes even “gaming machines” chug. So it’s a lovely looking game but probably not a great showcase – unless your machine is so beefy that you want “I can even run ARK at 60fps on Ultra!” bragging rights. But a single 970 won’t get you there.
Good point.
At times, yes. But more often than not it’s for immediate and deliberate shock value. 80% of the gameplay of the Walking Dead is just talking to people or trying to find the doodad you’re supposed to rub on the thingamabob to move the story forward.
There’s also a good 15% tugging at my damn heartstrings… ![]()
How about a golf game. The Golf Club looks pretty. I haven’t played it but the commenter seems to really like it and he keeps mentioning how much he likes the graphics. Warning he uses NSFW language even though it’s funny.
*Elite Dangerous. *There can be violence, but doesn’t have to be. You can set out and explore the galaxy. And it is very, very pretty.
They may not push your system but Gathering Sky is worth it for the soundtrack and it does look very nice.
For something faster Race the Sun is a good choice.
I wasn’t sure if that counted as “killing”. Better not mention what happens to the Companion Cubethough.
If you like Portal-like 1st-person 3D puzzle solving, I recommend the Talos Principle. Beautiful (though not overly complex) graphics/lighting, and extremely compelling puzzles. I’m about 80% of the way through, and so far there’s been no violence or killing.
I thought about that, based on screenshots I’ve seen, but I hadn’t played it so I couldn’t vouch for the lack of violence. Good suggestion.
Batman: Arkham Knight. It’s Batman so it has no killing (by Batsy at least), and if your system can run that broken PC port on ultra it truly survived the worst-of-worsts.
