that whole “thrust upon them” thing is like when I hear sometimes women say “I found myself pregnant”. That language is used to absolve someone from responsibility for their actions. Unless someone has been living under a rock for a long time, they realize that pregnancy is a possibility and consequence of having sex.
Do you think it could be possible to use abortion as a form of birth control (ie, not done to save the life of the mother, not rape) and be moral? Seems to me nothing could be more immoral than killing your own child because it’s inconvenient. Even if you were an ax murderer, at least your victims have a chance to escape, unlike one’s own child.
There is a part of this discussion that I feel is being tip toed around, when does this life start ? The egg and zygote get together, sometimes days after coitus. Then the cells start to divide, similar to a cancer at first, or a mole, or a wart. If they are all types of life then any man who has ever had that annoying mole taken off his neck is committing murder, yes or no ? If this is a no then the woman until the end of about 40 days is not either. Later then their should be a different discussion altogether.
The length of this explination is best left to a link
but until the 6th week there is no heart to beat, no kidneys, no lungs, there is nothing that could be said to make it anything other than a mass of cells, yes the blue print is there but the building hasn’t even gotten the ground broke so to speak, and outside toxins can do fatal things to it. It would be called a nevus or wart.
