I recently got a Nook and one of the things I like about it is I can lend out books for two weeks (I can only lend a book out once, which I think is retarded).
So fellow Dopers let’s share books.
I only have two so far, one is about halfway read, although I’m willing to part with it for two weeks which Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. I’m enjoying it so far. It’s about what the title says: it takes a look at Abraham Lincoln’s life but colors it in such a way it looks like everyone he did was to exterminate vampires. It isn’t a difficult read but it’s entertaining.
I’m almost done (will finish by tonight) with Death From the Skies, which is a very approachable science book about all the different things that can kill us written by a former Doper The Bad Astronomer. Each chapter is about a different thing that can kill us, whether it be asteroids, gamma ray bursts, etc. The chapters starts out with a short narrative one what it’d look like, the history and science behind it and ends with what, if anything, we can do to keep from dying. I’m an astronomy nerd so it’d have to be something like this that could pull me away from Abraham Lincoln fighting vampires.
