How often does it happen that an adult who seems to be perfectly normal, with no history of erratic behavior or mental illness, suddenly “snaps” and does something totally crazy like jump off a bridge or shoot someone without provocation?
My neighbor in Portsmouth “snapped” and shot his boss about 7 years ago. I didn’t know him well, but he was the other dad who liked to hang out with his kids are the little neighborhood playground.
Folks who “snap” are often found after the fact to have had long histories of weirdness… Just not weird enough.
