As if we don’t have enough to worry about in Europe discourtesy of Czar Dobby, now North Korea apparently thinks this is a great time to rebuild a nuclear test site they allegedly shut down a few years ago.
It is a great time; while your major enemy is busy with one fight, you can sharpen your shivs with impunity. And I’m sure China is loving this like a cat in the creamery. “We don’t have any control over Kim Jong-un,” says the only nation that will trade with North Korea.
I’m increasingly of the opinion that that international relations is like junior high school with nukes.

I’m all for Kim testing nukes. He has a fairly limited supply of fissionable material, and so every nuke he tests is one he doesn’t have available to use as a weapon.
Assuming he’s capable of using any as a weapon, of course. His delivery systems are also somewhat lacking.
Kim’s real threat is all the conventional artillery he has aimed at Seoul. Anything shiny enough to distract him from that is a good thing.
