I think I’ve got it sussed. Li’l Kim’s plan is to get into a war with the U.S. He plans on losing. Afterward, he’ll collect foreign aid from the U.S. to rebuild his country.
Just one teeny, tiny hitch in the plan - he’s not gonna be around to enjoy the fruits of his brilliant scheme…
I’m pretty sure rebuilding his country is at the bottom of a long list of priorities.
Let’s hope his Q-bomb is a dud.
The Mouse That Roared…
…is the mouse that gets squished.
In reality, he will continue his amusing little tantrum and at some point, South Korea, Japan, or the USA will relent and give him what he wants. One of us always does. NK will receive free food, free fuel, and free medical supplies all for the affordable price of threatening those around him. We will pay his bribe.
Is lil’ Kim married? We could have a wedding when it’s all over. Maybe Obama’s older daughter could step up to the plate!
( I loved that book!)
Yeah, that worked really well in Iraq.
I’ve been thinking about that play since the NK kerfluffle started. But the guy who starred in it in our junior high production was MUCH cuter than L’il Kim. Hmmm…it’s been 44 years since I saw that play…I should revisit it. Wonder what Jack C. looks like now…
And there’s one goddamned 2nd lieutenant who’ll accidentally capture Washington D.C. and ruin the whole plan.
So the hijack, then, is what happens when NK gets the keys to the US? Lil Kim gets access to more money than he can imagine, more nukes than he can count, more land than he can see, and an armed population so used to fighting with itself he can count on uprisings crushing themselves (see Life of Brian, PFJ vs. Campaign for Free Galilee).
It’s been a long time since I read the book, but I recall the mouse that roared being for peace.
I mean-nothing happens-doesn’t the little pisspot lose face? He’s obviously trying to extort oil/food/money. Suppose the world just ignores him?
That would be the best option.
Tribute, not extort. Tribute . It’s sad for the NK People, but if this keeps up, I suspect that we will just watch them circle the drain.
Sad really. If they would stop their threats and posturing, we would help them.
I must recommend a very good book on the conditions of NK. ‘Nothing to Envy’. It was recommended by someone else here and is a VERY good read.
The current LICD you need to go back a week or so (spoiler due to possible NSFW content) arc has a spin on Kim Jong Un’s behaviour. Made me laugh.
Nah, his minions just produce a “documentary” that shows NK winning the war against the imperial forces. The people pretend to believe it, cause that’s how they stay alive. Kim remains a god in his own eyes.
In reality nothing changes, but since when has reality mattered in NK?
