Un? That’s not his name. His last name is Kim and his first name is Jong-un (going by the North’s romanization)/Jeong-eun (going by the South’s romanization). There is no middle name.
IIRC, the first round of purges were of hard-line military (including the fellow given an opportunity to catch an incoming mortar round).
That, and much of the business were removed from military control and given to Party officials (don’t know if this was how the uncle got his hands in the jar).
Jong-Un is not stupid enough to seriously think he could win a war - and since he has made it obvious that he is NOT going to play nice with the South, he is facing a South President who has promised a 10-to-1 retaliation of anything he does militarily.
Maybe the next time they announce a public execution in Pyon… (NK Capital), maybe we should send a cruise missile in to take out not only the condemned, but the executioner(s) and the Official’s viewing stand.
