Symantec lost any chance of acquiring me as a customer by their non-stop “Buy Norton AntiVirus” spamming. In what THEY claim is the wildest coincidence, the spam started 12 hours after installing their “free 90-day trial” that could only be activated by registering at their site.
So I registered, and very carefully made sure that all of the little check boxes said, “I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR ABOUT GOOD DEALS FROM YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS!”
I downloaded a trial version of 2003 last week and found the scheduler. Open A-V from the taskbar icon, click ‘scan for viruses’. On the bottom under ‘schedule task’, click’schedule’. From there you can change the time and frequency of scans, ‘advanced’ to change the day of the week. I may just crack open my wallet for this one-it removed a pesky worm that none of the free worm-stompers on Tucows could find.
