Not enjoying the n-word coverage.

I have no problem with it. A lot of the problem with pointing out how racist Trump is is that people say you can’t prove it. Well, this is potentially a way to prove it in a way that even a klansman would admit was racist.

Do I think it’s all to make Manigault-Newman more famous? Sure. But I’m fine with another reality TV star who knows how to pull this shit using it against Trump.

The only real downside is if nothing is ever leaked. Then that will be used the other way. But surely she’s smart enough to actually have it. She’s just milking it.

Omarosa is such a nasty, despicable “human.” I can’t generate even a flicker of an iota of sympathy for her situation or interest in her book. She very enthusiastically got into bed with a person she well knew to be a filthy racist pig. She’s a race and gender traitor crying alligator tears on the cable news circuit and turning a profit.

Y’know, all that looking into the abyss, lie down with dogs, Devil’s due, etc.

Of course Trump has used the N-word throughout his life. Is there even one vaguely sentient adult on either party’s side who doubts this? If there actually is a recording, so what? CNN will have a 24/7 wank-off festival, Dems will wring their hands and say things, Repubs will go silent, and Trump’s base will celebrate it.

Now, Omarosa may have opened a can of worms that leads to some real WH shakeups (secret recordings, security leaks, etc), but I kind of doubt it. The WH is infested with devious, darkness-dwelling cockroaches that find good hideyholes whenever a light flickers on.

Right. Remember when CNN used to play all those commercials along the lines of: this is a fact, this is an apple, this is a banana, they will say the apple is a banana as a distraction? They seemed to have forgotten all of that to make their news coverage about juicy rumors.

Play the tapes and it is one thing. As it stands, there really ought to be some verifiable news they could be reporting.

People don’t want news, people want something to be outraged about!

I’m so tired of the N word controversies. What people say in private is their business.

I’d certainly hope an educated New Yorker with a bad comb over, wouldn’t routinely use that word. But, it’s not earth shattering news if a tape from 15 years ago is out there.

It is worth noting Trump has been a long time supporter of Omarosa. Long before he was in politics. She was on his show twice and he’s employed her in various jobs.

That doesn’t sound like a man that hates black people.

Oh yeah, he’s a big supporter. You are not familiar with his twitter feed, I see.

I absolutely love the idea that “we’re going to check whether or not something possibly false said on our NEWS show is true or not” is your definition of wildly biased coverage. It really tells me everything I need to know about the whole “both sides do it” argument for fake news.

Rick Jay wrote:"Penn Jillette saying Trump made “Racially insensitive comments” is evidence. It’s vague, but it’s evidence. ’

That’s what Penn says, Teller isn’t talking.

Seriously, you just know that trump’s own people probably refer to it as “the n------- tape”.

I said Trump has been a supporter of Omarosa.

Obviously he isn’t now. Not after being stabbed in the back by that book.

I’m not familiar with the timeline, did the book come before she was fired?

Book came almost a year after she was fired.

Kelly came in as chief of staff and started cleaning house. Trying to bring a little order to the chaos of the Trump Administration.

I don’t understand your objection. I don’t want news programs to tell me they are going to fact check something while projecting a negative opinion about it- I think they should verify everything before they go on the air. Is that so bad?

I am not trying to draw an equivalence between FOX and CNN, if that is what you are worried about. But, n— gate IMHO gives the right plenty of ammo for whining about fake news since the whole thing is just hearsay.

Omarosa’s story presents a lesson of sorts. She knew he was saying bigoted thoughts, had bigoted ideas yet remained loyal to Trump. She thought she was ‘different’. She woke up and realized “OMG! I’m actually a n****r, too!”

I see some Asians enthusiastically supporting Trump and Republicans because they believe that Trump’s only going to restrict illegal immigration. He’s going after people from “shithole” countries. I see some Jews supporting Trump because of his positions on Israel. They don’t understand that they’re digging their own graves.

If you think racism is synonymous with “hating black people”, then you don’t really understand much about racism.

This seems a weird thing to say. If somebody said in private “I really hate the Jews. If I’m elected President, I’m going to do everything I can to make them all get killed”, and then this statement came out while they were running for President, you’d say “Hey, it’s his/her business.”?

Strange.

His family business was sued for housing discrimination. Doesn’t sound like a man that likes black people.

Have any of you ever used the n-word?

If you are older than 50 and grew up in the south, I’d be willing to wager that there is a greater than 80% chance that you have used the n-word, regardless of your own race.

Does that make you a racist if you have? IMHO, not necessarily.

W. Kamau Bell was on Colbert’s show this week. He had some insightful points in his interview.

Colbert: Do you think he said it?
Bell: I don’t really care…? I already know Donald Trump is a racist. I think needing a white person to say the n-word to reveal [their] racism is really a white person thing. For white people it’s really an indicator. Black people, we look at the whole package. Not just that one word.

On Omarosa:

Bell: This is how bad at life Donald Trump is - He’s figured out a way to make black people feel like they have to defend Omarosa. All day on Twitter yesterday black women were like “Ugh…I don’t like Omarosa but please don’t call black women ‘dogs’…”

This isn’t about years ago, but within the last couple of years. Yes, if they said it during that time, they are racists.

If they said it before it was widely known to be offensive, or even a short while afterwards as people were adjusting, that is a different thing.

But it’s the 21st century. That word, when actually used, means you are a racist. Period.

Please don’t try to defend it, let alone use it to argue Trump isn’t racist.

I’m not sure where you draw the line about when you could have said it in your past and not be assumed to be a racist. I would say that if you said it before the age of say 13 or before the year 1965, you can chalk it up to youthful ignorance or being the product of a changing society. But if you’re old enough to know better and have said it in the last 50 years, you’re probably a bigot.

I would be astounded if Donald hasn’t said the word in 50 years, but even if he hadn’t, his refusal to rent to black tenants and his insistence that black workers vanish from his casino floor when he came down speaks volumes. As does his finding it necessary to note that a minority officer speaks good English.
