I have a 10’X10’kennel that I want to use as a greenhouse this spring. I also have a roll of
3mil plastic sheeting.( IDEA*)*.
I have to somehow build a top for this brilliantly (ahm) ;)thought up structure;).
What can I use to glue the plastic sheet together to form the gable ends And reinforce the
corners and edges?
The box doesn’t identify the type of plastic so I guess it is poly ethylene.
Epoxy glue generally works for that sort of thing.
Horticultural supplies salesman checking in here.
You can’t glue polyethylene. You could use a tape-like product called PolyPatch for reinforcement.
Most greenhouses use aluminum extrusion clamping rails to hold the poly in place. A popular version is called Uni-Lock.
Most kennels have flat roofs. How were you planning to shed rainwater?
Another issue is ventilation. Greenhouses can get over 100 F very quickly even on a cold day. Gotta vent somehow.
3 mil poly is a little light. Most greenhouses use 6 mil.
I won’t advertize here, but feel free to send me an email. johnburt@NOSPAMfast.net Take out the “NOSPAM” bit.
