One time only. I was stationed in Germany. A bunch of us went into Frankfurt. We did have a designated driver. He wasn’t drunk but did get into an accident on the way back. The rest of us were polluted. I had a minor abrasion on my head but never showed any signs of concussion. I remember after the accident and the Polizei and MPs showing up. I remember them bringing us to the hospital as a precaution. I remember going into the exam room. The next thing I remember was lifting my head up and it was daylight and we were at the MP station. I lost probably 5-6 hours. I asked the driver how I acted and he told me I was the most in control one of the group.
I have two lost weekends. I apparently had great times both times, one of those involved waking up naked with a woman I didn’t remember meeting. I am apparently a very amiable drunk. I don’t drink like that anymore.
It’s happened to me on a few occasions where I drank excessively, especially if I was drinking for the first time after an extended period of sobriety.
Fortunately, I exclusively drank at home alone, so I know I never did anything stupid while blacked out. It was more disconcerting than anything - I’d wake up in my bed with a pounding headache and realize I couldn’t remember having gotten into bed or ending my day. Often, the bedroom light and my monitor would still be on, I’d have a mostly-full drink still sitting on my desk, and I’d have a bunch of tabs open in my browser.
