Note to Self; Do NOT hire Zombies to run your store (Sims 2 OFB)

I finally picked up the Sims 2 expansion pack “Open for Business”, because my evil sense of humor wanted to find out what would happen in a store staffed with Zombies and Vampires…

I have the “Zombie Apocalypse” mod which makes the normally passive Zombies (introduced in the University expansion pack) hunger for some Spicy Simulated BRAAAIIINS! (Band Name!)

I wondered if the Zombified employee(s) would concentrate on their job duties, or if they’d succumb to the siren call of warm, fresh, tasty, simulated BRAAIIINNNS!
…As expected, the Zombie is nothing but a creature of instinct, and could not resist The Hunger for BRAAIIINS!

As my Shopkeeper is an Equal Opportunity employer, who does not discriminate on the basis of age, sex, race, creed, sexual preference, or Life State, she hired a Zombie, and assigned him the duty of Stockghoul, figuring that would reduce the risk to her customer base…
it worked, for about 2 game-hours, at which point, the StockZack surrendered to his baser instinct, and chowed down on the brain of another employee…

…a salesman!
…which then proceeded to perform craniophagy on a customer he had just sold an expensive item to, and then proceeded to consume the brains of the shopkeeper…
…who then had a light cranial snack off another customer…

needless to say, the shop did not do too well saleswise…

…as far as a Zombie factory, it’s a roaring success! it’s just too bad it’s actually a florist shop…
As far as Vampire staffers go, their severe allergy to Ultraviolet radiation is quite problematic for the shop’s daylight hours, they’re fine for late-night staff though

It seems that hiring the Undead generally is not a winning strategy…

Okey-dokey. I’ll keep that in mind.

Looks like somebody needs Diversity Awareness Training. Have you ever stopped to consider that eating brains is a central aspect of Post-Living culture?

They obviously just misunderstood the corporate mantra: “Work Smarter, Not Harder”

My suggestion- they need a communications seminar speaker to come and visit them.

Wait, maybe the Vampires could go to the Zombie store, or are vampires affected by zombies too?

Clearly, the Vampires have a greater work-ethic than their Brain-eating counterparts, when you hire a Vampire for the evening shift, they are quite dilligent workers, bordering on the obsessive actually, and since their Needs don’t deteriorate at night, they can be true workaholics, no need to eat, or take breaks, they just want to work, but the instant the Sun comes up, they’re gone in a flash…

Zombies, on the other hand, are unable to control their Hunger, and always crave the brains of the living, it’s the sole purpose that occupies what remains of their mind, they simply must…eat…brains…, you can have a line of ready-to-pay customers getting more and more impatient, while your Zack cashier moans quietly to itself, thinking about their paying customer’s tasty brain, just mere inches away from them…

You do them a favour and hire them, despite your misgivings about hiring a reanimated corpse that feeds upon the brains of the living, and how do they repay your generosity? by eating your brain and turning you into a zombie yourself!

If they could simply get their brain-craving under control, and maybe only eat brains on their breaks or at lunch or dinner, I’d have no problem with that, but when a swarm of zombified employees attack the customers (especally the ones that haven’t paid for their purchases yet), when they’re on the clock and should be working, it’s kind of a problem…
