I used to sometimes leave the workplace singing, “I’m free!” from the Who.
And if you’re 13, like Rebecca and her friends were on the day the video of Friday was put on YouTube, you can do all the things she and those friends do. You can, instead of taking a bus to school, you can catch a ride with your friends in a car there, even though they are all 13 including the driver. Then after school, you can go to a party that night with the same people in the car, again all of you being 13. Three of you can sit on the open trunk of the car, even though this is illegal and dangerous. You can go to a party where everyone gets drunk, despite all being 13. Be sure to get a rapper to follow you in his own car as you head to the party, even though he never met you before. Spend your whole weekend at the party, so forget about doing any homework and reading any textbooks.
IOW every 13yo girl’s dream.
13yo boy’s dreams are no less unreal. Just different.
You can also be so careless, just like me, that you would write this instead of “You can, instead of taking a bus to school, catch a ride with your friends in a car there, even though they are all 13 including the driver.” Aren’t I hypocritical? If you did all those things, you wouldn’t even be remotely trying to be legal and careful in your behavior, just like me when I write my posts so fast.
Sorry, couldn’t resist. Used to be one of the best American made beers. All malt, no goddamn rice or corn.
Feels a little sad to be contributing to a ‘kicking off the weekend’ thread on Monday morning, but here’s mine…
"Please release me, let me go … " LOL
^Fun video with Bowie and his pal Peter Frampton.
