If he doesn’t respond adequately there, why take it here? If you think that he is truly a troll, how is this not setting out a buffet table?
My hope wasn’t to argue with him here (or in GD). My hope was to let other people know, “Hey, this guy is yanking your chain, please stop obliging him and maybe he’ll go away.”
No discussion really needed, in this thread or the GD one. If people stopped responding, he’d stop trolling (or the resultant flameout of “Why isn’t anyone paying attention to meeeeeeeeeeee” would be much more fun to watch).
In the GD thread, a number of posters asked for cites, stats, any kind of support for some of his ridiculous assertions, and he has so far provided nothing but more assertions. It was pissing people off somewhat, and thus this thread.

I’m just wondering why it needs to be said here when it could be logically and eloquently proven in the GD thread.
It’s already been proven in GD. This thread is so everyone can state what was plainly obvious in the other thread, but couldn’t be stated because of the forum rules.
Well, in fairness the OP seems actually to be directed at the folks who feel the need to continue to try and debate with Nothing Special. Noting Special may be stupid and poor at making a case for his position, so why do folks continue to engage him?
He eats/drinks raw vegetables for fun?
I’ll betcha he reads a dictionary/thesaurus just for the rush he gets
You know, as a matter of fact, I do enjoy perusing the dictionary. I think that words are the most sophisticated form of empirical communication that we’ve developed.
And I still think it’s very strange that healthy practices could be regarded as stupid, and that destructive practices could be regarded as fun.
It is very strange to me. Can you explain why you like destruction?

I don’t think anyone called eating raw vegetables stupid. Some have poked fun at its appearance on a list of fun things to do. Why have you continued to ignore requests for any support for your ridiculous claims about sports and destruction?
Now that trolling fucktard is dispensing quack medical advice. He won’t last long-- the sooner this guy gets banned the better. This MB is about fighting ignorance, not spreading ignorance.

They continue to engage me because I have them cornered, and they know it. I had them cornered from the start. They know that normal athletics are destructive, and they know that they still like to do these destructive things.
I ask them, “Why do you like destruction?” and they get very pissed. They want to continue to destruct, because they’ve learned to enjoy it, for whatever reasons. And what are those reasons?

“Continue to destruct”? Make sure and pay attention in English class when you go back after winter break.

Oh, dear. I recommended the ingestion of a food that is so loaded with nutrition that a sick person (such as yourself) cannot bear the thought.
And now an encouragement toward banning! Sooner the better, as far as you’re concerned! Let’s get rid of all this talk of health. You consider sickness preferable, because you are sick.
Because my “claims” are self-evident, and well known to those who object to the simple facts most vociferously.
People who have, themselves, nailed themselves to a wall can suddenly find the energy and inspiration to protest the fact being pointed out to them that they, themselves, have nailed themselves to a wall.
People become attached to their self-degradation. Self-degradation becomes a habit, and reinforced early on. Normal athletics are one example.

If it’s possible to be collectively cornered by one troll running in circles repeating himself, I guess we’re all cornered. Most of the posters in the GD thread tried to engage you, asking you to expand on your thought, to support it with facts from the real world, and still you ran in circles. You’re a troll, and, I suspect, a sock as well. Your style is disturbingly familiar to me.

I’m 45 years old. I graduated from a decent university with a BA in Literature, read some of the best, imitated some of the best, and eventually developed a style of my own. “Winter break” is a distant, but fond, memory.

Idiocy is not a style, though a few people make it look like an art form.

No. You made the crackpot assertion that a person can forego a crticial medical check-up if that person eats “healthy” food. That’s not only factually incorrect, it’s dangerous. You are an idiot.
