Nova: Time Machines

Impressed doesn’t nearly describe my feelings after viewing this program earlier this week. “Quantum Physics for Dummies” would’ve been an apt subtitle.

The program led us from the basics, building upon them, until we could actually understand world-renowned geniuses debating the plausibility of time travel.

I was particularly interested in the explaination of, what I believe they called, “quantum foam.”

One note: Steve Hawkins has got to invent something to provide inflection for the output of his voice synthesizer.

I wish I’d seen it! Michael Crichton’s Timeline provided me with all I know about quantum foam, so I would have been at least marginally up to speed.

(And it’s a good book, too! I always recommend MC.)

Don’t worry: it’s on the way. With a British accent, even.
