In other news, I managed to rip a huge chunk out of my fingertip while putting together the Christmas tree stand. Ow ow ow owowowow! (But, even in its present state - lights, about a dozen ornaments hung wherever the 2- and 4-year-olds can reach - the baby is charmingly enthusiastic about the tree.)

Anyway, my rant du jour:
I’ve recently got a job working for a really friendly family business- I’ve been there three weeks now, I get offered food, everyone’s really helpful… And racist.
Third week in, the family friend who now lives in Turkey has just gone home after visiting for a few weeks, and the causal racism is now out and proud. Damn.
Oh, and while I’m ranting, I should probably mention my sucky boss from my other job , who cheerfully told a new co-worker I’d give him a lift home after shift last night. At 1 am, half an hour out of my way. I didn’t want to leave him stranded and having to call a taxi, which would be at least an hour or so’s wages, so I did take him, but the guy wasn’t very nice, and I in no way indicated to my arsehole of a boss that that would be OK.
What IS IT with people not answering their emails???
I’m still waiting to hear back from different people. It just so happens that one of them is a folk musician and another, members of a folk music group. Is it coincidence, or is there some sort of epidemic of folk musicians not answering emails?

I have always appreciated your ability to face hard times with good humor.
As for me, trying to get pregnant (again) time is officially over because I can’t spend another goddamn day off the pill, it is turning me into a hormone-ravaged depression and PTSD mess (which has been my experience without hormonal BC, typically, so no terrible surprise there.) I am officially out of the running for making babies the old fashioned way, god knows when or if if we will ever be parents of any sort, which is really too bad because I think we’d make good ones.
Since I’m not currently employed I don’t even have the pleasure of sitting here counting up all the money I’m saving by not having kids right now. 
Man, life is just all kinds of suck.
I am sorry, hon. You really should speak to an OB and find out if there are better ways to help with your hormones. I have not had a period in about two months and I fear menopause is on me all too early. Frick.
