Now I have seen it all: Kos blogger wants Pelosi impeached

Yeah, after all, what are these guys so upset about, anyway? Its not like there’s anything going on, need to get all bent out of shape over.

This isn’t quantifiable stuff, Red, but I think you’re el wrongo. I remember the days, and Dave got the same ration of shit for his views as any of the rest of them. And changed his mind in response to fact and reason. It is that change and progress that is the essence of “fighting ignorance”. Merely providing facts is a small part of the battle.

As well, others here have attempted to “capitalize” (so to speak) on their military experience as some sort of “trump card” (“Well, I typed at Fort Dix, so what I say is more important…”) and that hasn’t worked worth crap, so far as I’ve been able to tell.

Won’t exactly call bullshit, but will call no fair.

Airman Doors has been one of the more openminded Conservatives at the Dope. We often disagree on issues, but he had Bush’s number in short order. That buys him some slack with me on his motives.

Pelosi’s favorable rating last week was at 53%. That means she’s probably doing well even with some of the Pubbies.

Der Trihs, it’s not the President’s responsibility to relieve Cheney of the duties of the office he was elected to fill. Back in the good ole days we got our crooked Vice President to resign and plead “no contest.” That was Agnew. Good ole Spiro. Then we headed toward certain impeachment of the President until he resigned and beat Congress to it.

I wonder how long it actually took from the actual Watergate break-in until the day he resigned in August of 1974. Once it got to rolling (after Woodward and Bernstein and John Dean), it didn’t seem to take that long to get him out. I don’t think anything could move that fast anymore unless it were just overwhelmingly bizarre. But I think that that is a possibility with this President.

Airman, I wouldn’t be so sure about how the Senate would vote if pushed. The House members who paid him a visit last week were moderates. One-third of the Senate will be up for re-election in 2008, will they not? And they also have reasons beyond the political.

Like, ya know, decency. Fear of eternal damnation, in some cases. Stuff like that.

You mean like all those pit threads you start about FoxNews and the like based on stuff you read on ThinkProgress, MediaMatters, or TDK? You’re not seriously giving Doors grief for doing something similar, are you?

You get five bucks for every bald face lie put about by ThinkProgress, I get two bucks for every bald face lie put out by Fox, and I retire. You get a second job, sell the kids…

Find me once where RTFirefly has ever tried to gin up nonsense over something some completely obscure nutball on redstate.org posted.

I like the term “nutpicking.” Very appropriate.

Where did I say anything about lies?

I actually took Doors’ “so” comment to **Hentor **as an admission that he read about this elsewhere. I agree. So what? Especially in light of that ridiculous comment about **Doors **not coming by this cite “honestly”. WTF does that mean?

You mean like this?

I’d say “Pajama Media” is a tad more obscure than TDK.

Pajamas Media
It’s little wonder they’re obscure, the censoring Bastards don’t include Ron Paul in their Republican Presidential Straw polls.

They will pay when the Libertarians seize power!

Libertarians of the world unite! All 6 of you.

I’m not sure when the Post broke the story, but Haldemann and Erlichman resigned in April 1973, then it still took a year and a half of slowly building momentum before Nixon quit. Had he stuck it out through impeachment and trial, he probably would have lasted another six months or so. So figure a two year time frame - Bush’ll be gone by then.

Okay, fair enough.

It means the fuck that I’m sick of the outrage machine of the right, even if it is in its last throes. It means that shit like pretending to be all up in arms over some comment from someone that nobody has ever heard of before (e.g. Ward Churchill), when you really have simply been given your marching orders from some right wing cesspool, is nothing but political manipulation. It’s bullshit.

But it’s OK to be spoon fed your outrage from the similar machine on the left? Sheesh, someone might as well just create a macro that automatically starts a Pit thread everytime ThinkProgress publishes its latest “outrage”. There’s a hell of a lot more of that going on around here than what you call manufactured outrage on the right, and you really have no idea whether Door’s “outrage” is genuine or not.

I agree with you that the OP is pretty lame. Who really cares what that blogger writes? But I’d like to see both sides being a lot less blindingly partisan around here.

No, it’s not, and I haven’t said that it is. It is a bit different though, to find out from littlegreenfootballs that Congressman Jefferson was found with bricks of cash in his freezer and come to discuss that here, which I think is fine, since you are talking about meaningful news, versus hearing from Atrios that some random unknown conservative blogger said that Hillary Clinton is gay.

If I were to bring something like that here, I hope I would be lambasted for dipping so low.

It’s no mystery. There is a not-so-small amount of people who believe both the Democrats and the Republicans wish to see the war continue for a long time. I’m somewhat sympathetic to this view. The fact that Pelosi and the Democrats aren’t doing what they think they should be doing on what is, in their mind, the most important problem of the day is unforgivable.

Of course, as the OP points out, there are a lot of practical problems, like the fact it’s impossible to impeach her. I’d consider the article an outcry from someone who doesn’t wish to vote for either the corporate puppet on the ‘left’ or the corporate puppet on the ‘right’ and instead wants someone who follows the will of the people (when he agrees with the popular opinion, 'natch).

That’ll never happen. Big business is smart enough never to support us, while people who want things like gay marriage are too dumb ever to support us.

Can someone explain to me why it matters how Airman Doors found this?
