Now listen up, all you sons of bitches. It's Lake America now

The renaming applies only to US government services. This will add another large and unnecessary expense to the American taxpayer, to satisfy a single individual’s (& his enablers) tantrum & ego.
Picture owning a small business and having to change the name or move location. The cost of having to redesign & reprint brochures . . .all associated supplies, web presence, is a lot! Now move that to a much grander scale of a government renaming and ask yourself if you’d rather have tax breaks, social programs, infrastructure improvements.
This renaming is meaningless to the rest of the world. To the rest of the planet the name is and will always be Lake Ontario, so named about 400 years ago, well before US or Canada came to be.
It will serve to confuse. Nothing more. Pointless and energy draining.

Apparently, this pushes the US and trump’s team to “the brink of absurdity”
(although I think that ship has already sailed.)

Why stop at only one Lake America?

Why not make all the Great Lakes "Lake America*? Then you won’t have to ever worry about confusing Lake Erie with Lake Ontario – I’m sorry – Lake America. Because now they’ll ALL be “Lake America”.

If you want to distinguish between them you can additionally label them 1 through 5, or A through E. Or call the former Lake Superior “the One that looks like a Wolf’s Head in profile”

They haven’t complied yet.

Beatcha to it.

Maybe this will push them to return to “Gulf of Mexico”.

What are they calling Denali these days?

Mt McKinley.

Cavers.

I think if we’re renaming lakes, rename Lake Michigan as Lake Obama.

Too late, we already claimed it for Wisconsin

I can accept that.

BREAKING! :collision: :collision: :collision: TRUMP TO RENAME ALL CANADIAN PROVINCES!!!

Among the new names: Manitoba becomes Melania. Newfoundland and Labrador are changed to Mar-a-Lago-land. Yukon will be designated East Alaska.

Mapquest is letting everyone rename Lake Ontario. It’s fun naming things!

So in addition to destroying the East Wing of the White House and turning the interior of what’s left into a semblance of an embarrassing gilded brothel, the Orange Peril has now renamed a lake with a 400-year-old legacy whose majority area belongs to Canada.

So besides thoroughly disgracing the presidency, the moron has now turned the concept of Executive Orders into a bad joke. Way to go, Americans, for your voting performance in 2024! What the ever-loving hell were you thinking?

You’re correct that the majority of the lake’s surface area is in Canada. But his argument is that the deepest parts of the lake are in United States’ waters, therefore the US has the majority of the lake’s volume, therefore it is an American lake and therefore the US can name the lake whatever it wants, Canada be damned.

You can’t make this stuff up.

It’s also illegal, likely in violation of the Boundary Waters treaty between the US and Canada. Not that the concept of “legal” means anything to him

Please stop saying ‘you’ as if it was all of us voters. 66.8 million of us did not vote for him. Let’s all go vent our ire at the 71.9 million that did but it wasn’t ’all of us’ by a long shot.

That’s a lot of detail behind a thought…for Trump.

Sometimes I feel we are living in a satire.

Don’t worry, @BippityBoppityBoo , you’re still in my good books.

I think what frustrates us in the rest of the world is that while slightly more than half of American voters put Trump in office almost two years ago, there is no way that they can remove him when most Americans (according to polls) are turning sour on him now. We hear your complaints about ever-increasing costs on food, fuel, and housing, and we hear your entreaties for him to do what he promised but never delivered, and we hear about how, instead of paying attention to your concerns, he’s occupying himself with such urgent, cannot-be-put-off tasks as renaming bodies of water and redesigning Washington DC’s buildings.

So we hear you. What puzzles us is that outside of impeachment and conviction, and the 25th Amendment, you cannot get rid of this guy prior to the end of his term. There must be a way.

Even more so, the fact that it was made abundantly clear over and over and over again, prior to voting day, the mess he and the his new administration was going to create and even given that knowledge, he was voted in anyway.
