Now that (American)people have to buy their own insurance

Well, so far. And even take the government out of it, if there is only one single plan available from any number of insurers, it’s still kind of the same thing. My worries are lessened, though, because it appears that there will be different tiers of coverage based on what one wants to pay. At least, initially.

And so far, abortions are not mandatory.

What you’re gonna get is “tiered levels.” This Acme Company is going to get a bunch of lawyers and accountants and say “What is the least amount we can offer and not get fined.”

Then they are going to tier their levels of coverage.

The more a position in Acme is needed the better the coverage to attact applicants. If you have a high turn over job, like fast food or housekeeping, those will always get the absolute minimum to avoid being fined.

This isn’t so odd. Even now we have tiered levels at most companies, you just don’t know it.

I’ve worked at companies where like Directors get free insurance, Managers get coverage starting immediately and a choice of HMO, PPO etc and the line workers get an HMO only and it doesn’t start till six months of service.

The thing is if you were a line worker who never interacted with management you’d never know about the tiers.

It’s going to be tiers definately.

As for insurance companies. Yes, they will find ways around this. Look at the banking reform. Did ANYONE benefit from that? All I got was my interest rate raise, my credit limit dropped and more and more fees. And more to come, which of course the banks blame on the reform act.

Finally there are four years to tinker with this. Remember you don’t have to repeal this, you just need to pass additional legislation to take the teeth out of it

Thank goodness! I’ve not read nearly enough studies that indicate that undergoing the procedure wouldn’t harm my male body!
