I suspect Musk’s “write only” API proposal would preclude bots like Infinite Scream, at least the part where you can summon it. Bots that just tweet content on a regular basis would be unaffected, but anything like the “turn this conversation into an Ace Attorney cutscene” bot or a “unroll this tweet thread” bot would be rendered unusable, since they need to read tweets from the API to generate their content.
Also, it’s not that Musk made Grimes as a simulation to please him, it’s that he genuinely believes the entire universe is a simulation built to satisfy Elon Musk. To be fair, if I were fabulously wealthy beyond all human need thanks to no particular effort on my part, I might also come to that conclusion. Musk is the guy who looks into the Total Perspective Vortex and sees nothing but the whole universe revolving around him exactly as it should.
