Now that Elon Musk has bought Twitter - now the Pit edition (Part 1)

I wonder how Tesla feels about their CEO promoting a competitor auto company.

I’m so sorry.

Elmo sat with Rupert Murdoch in his box at the Super Bowl yesterday. Two miserable excuses for human beings.

Given that Tesla stock has pretty much doubled from its January low while rival carmakers like Rivian haven’t, I’m going to guess that they are okay with it.

I’m not at the point where I’m putting much stock into your guesses.

Edit: especially given your cherry-picking of numbers. Yeah, Tesla has rebounded since January. But since Musk acquired Twitter on October 7, Tesla stock has gone from $223 to $194, with a low of $109. So I’m not convinced the shareholders are like, “woohoo double in stock price ftw!”

Edit2: And even that’s too generous. Musk publicly and legally committed to purchasing Twitter on October 4, so we should look at the stock price before he made it clear how his attention would be divided. On the day before–October 3–Tesla stock was at $242. Tesla’s stock has dropped about 20% since he embarked on this boondoggle.

And you guess the stock owners are okay with it.

I don’t think there can be any doubt that TSLA is an upward channel. I was wrong that it was likely a dead cat bounce.

Yeah, the engineers definitely didn’t go in and tweak things so that Elon specifically would get more visibility. That’s definitely not the reason

Lol, my newest tweet is over an hour old, I have had to manually load tweets for 4, 5 days now, Twitter is feeling more and more like the bad SDMB vBulletin days of yore…

…I have Elon blocked: but I’m SO tempted to unblock him for a bit so I can see just how bad it is.

You may not need to. At some point Elmo is going to realize that some folks aren’t following him, perhaps even the outrage of blocking him, and he’ll fire assorted unrelated engineers and command the rest to make it impossible to block or unfollow him.

Except now it costs you significantly more each month.

About two hours ago he posted a slightly sexually disturbing meme that seems to confirm it.

I have my feed set to “following“, but when I flipped over briefly to “for you“, there were all his tweets. What a dink.

For a culturally iconic entrepreneurial titan, confidently astride the worlds of technology and commerce, he really is an insecure and pathetically needy little turd.

Would Andrew Carnegie care how many Twitter followers he had? Would J.P. Morgan? John D. Rockefeller? I doubt it.

Edison probably would’ve, though.

Someone seems to have called this shot a couple months ago  :

Not that I was the first or only to say so. Nor is it a very hard thing to figure out.

Karnak predicts the next move is Elon’s tweets become unblockable. The next step is the twitter app becomes un-uninstallable. etc.

Clearly you don’t understand “Agile” software development.

Don’t you know that every time Twitter forks up it is because it is “Agile”!?! I mean come on, it is obvious.

Also, whenever Twitter does something right, it is because Musk’s kept only the best developers. Again, obviously.

So would Tesla.

And Nicolai would spend all day fuming that Thomas was somehow shadowbanning him.

And he’d have been right.

And then trying the same thing (ineptly) to Marconi as an upstart

Muskrats and the opposition are currently falling for this bit of satire which has spread far from from the source, typically without attribution.
