“Curated”?
Well, when Elmo censors according to petty childish whims and regressive ideologies, and promotes nutjobs and Nazis, that’s a kind of curating, innit?
No, no, no! It’s only the libs who turned on Elmo and hate him now because he isn’t one of the tribe! Or of the body! Or something… also I’m not an Elmo fanboi.
Sorry, I was channeling Sam Stone for a minute there.
They have many fine companies lining up to advertise on Twitter:
Baxto, Fetto, Lobu, and Dolu? The Marx brothers are now peddling household junk on Twitter!
If you misspeak the names while picking up the Necronomican, then it will summon an army of the dead.
Just don’t try to buy toys from Lobu or Dolu
For the hell of it, I tried Googling those company names, and couldn’t find any of the companies in the first few google results. I did however find out that ‘dolu’ is Turkish for ‘full’ and that Urban Dictionary defines fetto as ‘any person who is both fat and ghetto.’
I’m pretty sure those are the character names for the janitorial staff at the cantina from Star Wars.
They don’t actually appear on screen, but they each have their own action figure and 400 page tie-in novel.
Also the Dark Horse graphic novel series Mop Eisley.
Is that the one about the janitor that tries to clean up that hive of scum and villainy?
Elmo is once again backpedaling and has changed NPR’s label to “government funded”.
What had he changed it to before?
(I tried to scroll back and look but discourse kept having to reload chunks because I went back like 20 posts or something ridiculously small. Then I tried searching for NPR in this thread and discourse interpreted that to mean any word that contained NPR. Which appears a lot. eg: unprecedented. An utter failure by discourse compared to how it worked under vbulletin, where you could just use your browser’s native ctrl+f search and search backwards, reloading the previous page if it went back that far.)
“State-Affiliated Media.”
lol you can’t even search on Matt Taibbi’s (when looking for posts) anymore, i.e. from:@mtaibbi stopped working.
I’d be willing to place a bet that all these advertisers are scammers.
Elmo, of course, is lying, and claiming that Substack hasn’t been blocked and that Taibbi was secretly working for them all along as some kind of sinister plot against him.
This is what loyalty to a narcissist gets you.
As an extreme prescriptivist, I strenuously object to the notion that “extreme” and “conservative” can, in any legitimate sense, be applied simultaneously to the same subject.
If you’d like to fix that, I’d suggest that the term “conservative” be jettisoned in favor a different descriptor.
Exactly. The preference for stability is almost a defining characteristic of what “conservative” means.
Hence, my continual harping on the subject.
