Yeah, maybe the only reason this is happening is because introducing a pay to promote system ends up having this as it’s inevitable consequence. It’s a shame that absolutely nobody predicted this before the introduction of Blue and this hasn’t been a constant topic of conversation ever since.
Also not mentioned in this is that Blue users (supposedly) receive a cut of the ad revenue from other Blue users which means Musk has directly attached a big red payout button to the roulette wheel of virality. It’s suspected that there’s a number of blue users who are deliberately posting inflammatory ragebait knowing everything they’re posting is misinformation but doing it purely to profit. Even if that’s not your conscious motivation, the incentives warp you in that direction over time.
All of these factors apply even if you presume there isn’t a correlation between being super gullible and thinking it’s a good idea to pay Musk $8 a month.
Gosh, I don’t know where you could possibly get that idea from.
Among those in Twitter’s payout pool was Andrew Tate, who tweeted that he received $20,379 under the new program. Tate wrote that “every penny” of the proceeds will go toward his Tate Pledge charity initiatives. The former pro kickboxer, who once tweeted that women should “bare [sic] some responsibility” for being raped, last year claimed tech platforms had banned him for what he said were “traditional masculine values.” Tate has 7.1 million followers on Twitter; his Twitter account had been banned in 2017 and was reinstated after Musk acquired the social network. Last month Tate was charged with rape and human trafficking offenses in Romania. Earlier this week, Tate and his brother Tristan sued a Florida woman and others, alleging they conspired to falsely accuse the Tates in the Romania case, the AP reported.
I figure in the rare event I survive whatever causes the collapse of society, scavenging solar panels and a Tesla, Rivian, or Amazon delivery van is going to give me a usable vehicle than trying to figure out how to refine gasoline.
Oh, so that’s what the massive piles of money that he couldn’t afford to donate to humanitarian aid to Ukraine was being saved up for.
And pardon my bewilderment, but what the fuck, this is the supposed tech-savvy genius who owns a social media company?
Musk’s “offer” stems from an earlier tweet where he criticized the Wikimedia Foundation for wanting so much money. “It certainly isn’t needed to operate Wikipedia. You can literally fit a copy of the entire text on your phone!” tweeted Musk. "So, what’s the money for? Inquiring minds want to know … "
He didn’t have to wait very long for an explanation, courtesy of the app’s very own Community Notes citing that the free information organization handles “over 25B page views per month and over 44M page edits a month, requiring substantial operating costs.” The notes also provided additional context that the Wikimedia Foundation employs third party financial auditors whose reports are made available to the public.
I mean that’s some weapons grade idiocy from someone allegedly tech savvy.
That was shot with the most cream-puff 45s ever loaded. Just enough power to cycle the action. Or, maybe they hand cycled each round. Or, they were frangibles.
I’ve shot a vehicle with multiple calibers, as well as compound bow. Most will go through, including the arrow, but I guarantee nearly any rifle round will slice through that “bullet-proof” truck like it was made of paper.
