About halfway through that first video, I realized I couldn’t tell whether that was the front or back of the truck and had to actively look for the driver through the tinted glass to figure it out.
New here?
At that angle, I didn’t see how the driver could even see the road.
Painful.
There, see? Rational disagreement about the validity of an argument is not the same thing as a “mindless attack”, and I’m not going to go around whining that Dissonance is trying to punish me for daring to “deviate from the crowd”.
I’m also not going to continue beating this hijack, but fair point made.
The highwayman came driving
Up to the old inn door?
Most people write letters to movie stars. This Musk guy writes to movies . “Dear Blade Runner, you rock. Especially when that car started flying.”
I don’t have a Xitter account, but I was able to look at that poster’s page…and they appear to be an Elmo stan? So they think those videos are a positive portrayal?
(They sure are if you’re a classic Jeep fan…)
Wow, it looks like it has a hard time just moving under its own power! So its performance appears to be as pathetic as its appearance and general utility. But by golly, when it’s stuck in the mud somewhere and is attacked by 1930s mobsters from one side and wild Indians from the other, it can stop both tommy gun bullets and arrows (provided they’re not aimed at the windows)!
It’s also bizarre that he’s copying Trump yet again. Hannibal Lecter / Blade Runner
I saw one close up here, I couldnt tell exactly what it was at first. A tank, a shopclass project? Just…ugly. Its longer than it looks, and whoever parked it at the small lot at the coffee joint left the rear end hanging out for some poor other driver to deal with. . The rear corner would really put a crease into some of the high end cars around here, starting right about mid door height. Its quite tall in the back
Regarding the videos of the hill climb - I’m torn. Is the vehicle performing incredibly badly? Are they having a hard time driving it due to poor handling or lack of experience with the vehicle? Or are they driving like a first time driver / 95 year old grandmother because they’re terrified of damaging it? Or some combination of the above?
I don’t know WHAT I’m supposed to take away from the sequence, other than it looks like a damn poor performance, even if, granted, a steep hill. But if the Xitter is a Musk employee (which it appears to be) it should be considered a positive video??? Because it doesn’t work that way for me, and apparently not for others here.
Well duh, everyone knows the movie was based on a novel by Philip K. Dick where the main character was named Rick Deckard Blade Runner. It stands to reason, I mean Robocop was about a cyborg called Robocop, and Rambo: First Blood Part II was about a Rambo named First Blood.
I’m fairly sure “First Blood” was a title of rank (not unlike “First Lieutenant”), and the dude’s name was Part Too.
Hell, my 2006 Scion xB would do better on that hill. Even with six hay bales in the back.
I am trading my 2009 XB for my partners 2007 Honda Element. I do maintenance on both. XB has great stock stereo, will miss that. Not great around curbs or terrain tho. Air dams are low.
Just saw Musks book out at Costco, his face taking the up the whole cover. I turned it over, because smirky. Didnt seem to be selling well.
He was also in “Around the World in 80 Days”. His first name is “Pass”.
I think you’ll find the character in the book was called Tricsheep, full name:
Doand Roidsdre Amofelec Tricsheep
My thoughts exactly.
