Looks like someone hurt Mr. Free Speech Absolutist’s fee-fees.
Y’all are conflating “real” and “reality.” Yes getting high and tripping are real experiences, but they aren’t real as in what is “objectively” happening to everyone else. This whole conversation is mental masturbation. Everyone knows what everyone else is talking about, but choose to talk past each other to prove some philosophical point. I will quit adding to the hi-jack.
Hell, this board is mostly mental masturbation
True, but that particular hi-jack goes above and beyond the norm. IMHO
It’s not very relevant to this pit thread about whether the effects of drugs are real or not, but X has announced that its user-to-user payment system will go online this year. Once that happens, expect Musk to announce that saying mean things about him will result in a $420.69 charge, followed by him saying it was “just a joke, chill everyone, why isn’t anyone signing up for my payment service?”
With the trajectory Elmo is going on, expect the charge to be $14.88.
Only if he can’t figure out how to pivot to $88.14.
Is that this year as in 2024, or “this year” as in SpaceX will be sending a manned mission to Mars this year, full self driving will be fully functional this year, Twitter will be profitable this year…
May I suggest you read this book, by Andrew Weil & Winifred Rosen, named “From Chocolate To Morphine”?
Subtitle sums it up: “Everything you need to know about mind altering drugs”
I mean, its not everything - they doesn’t mention, for example, 2CI or 2CB, and many of the less common chemicals, but it does give a fairly balanced view of the psychoactive chemicals almost all of us ingest.
And yes, coffee and chocolate (caffeine and theobromine respectively) are in the book.
What I’ve learned from this thread is that if he experienced it, then it’s real
Is this not just a Patreon-like system so users can give tips to content creators?
Good one, is it not Elmo’s Patreon-like system?
Surely, you of all people are not unfamiliar with Elmo’s history (of failures) with his ‘everything app’
In the 1990s, Musk co-founded X.com, an online bank that was later rebranded as PayPal after he was fired by the company’s board. Musk has not worked directly in online payments since his early days at the PayPal precursor, but has frequently discussed getting back into the space with X, the social media site he purchased in October 2022 for $44 million [sic].
For added humor:
In the post, X said the company was gaining “unstoppable momentum” with record numbers of users using new services rolled out in the last year under Musk’s leadership. This included 100 million daily viewers for X’s Immersive Video feature. Musk and CEO Linda Yaccarino have previously said the company reached a new high of 500 million users, with over 2 million new user signups per day. However, data from online tracker Similarweb indicates X only had about 94 million total site visits last December, with about 45.9 million unique users. Threads, the short form blogging competitor launched by Meta in July, had about 76.6 million users from about 29.5 million users for comparison.
To be fair from 20,000 feet, 45.9 million can look an awful lot like 500 million.
The thing is… when you start counting all the porn bots and dropship scammers, yes, I’m sure usage is clicking right along.
Hypoxia can be like that.
But how many peer-to-peer payments will they be making?
I mean, I don’t actually understand the business model to begin with given, how much free porn there is, but presumably Xitter could host webcam streams and manage payments directly? I dunno.
I think I’d trust my bank account information with the porn sites before I’d trust it with Xitter right now.
